Chemical Compatibility Guide For Drain Protector™, Conical Plug and Barrel Patch
Notice
This report is offered as a guide and was developed from information which, to the best of PSI Urethanes, Inc. knowledge, was reliable and accurate. Due to variables and conditions of application beyond PSI Urethanes, Inc.’s Control, none of the data shown in this guide is to be construed as a guarantee, expressed or implied. PSI Urethanes, Inc. assumes no responsibility, obligation, or liability in conjunction with the use or misuse of the information.
Due to the nature of soft urethanes, the physical properties of these products may change with exposure to certain environmental conditions like temperature, humidity and UV Radiation. Please inspect the stored product regularly to ensure it is in a usable state. Do not store or use in temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees Celsius) for an extended period of time. Typical life expectancy of urethane products is about five years.
Sealing properties may be compromised when exposed to chemicals that may be absorbed, causing swelling.
Degradation may result from chemical incompatibilities. Discoloration or degradation may occur.
Periodically inspect products when in use for proper seal.
KEY
Key for the Compatibility Guide
All tests exposed each chemical to a Drain Protector™, Conical Drain Plug and Barrel Patch for a minimum of 4 hours.
Degradation – Any physical change in the material: Swelling, discoloration, curling, etc.
Degradation Rating – 0 = None; 1 = Slight; 2 = Significant
Seal – Any change to the seal between the Drain Protector ™ and the sealing surface.
Seal Rating – 0 = None; 1 = Slight; 2 = Significant
Overall Compatibility Rating
Overall Compatibility – The material’s ability to resist chemical degradation and maintain a seal.
Good = Can withstand 4 or more hours of chemical exposure
Fair = Can withstand 2 – 4 hours of chemical exposure
(ER) Emergency Response = Can withstand 30 min. to 2 hours of chemical exposure
(NR) Not Recommended = Not recommended for use with this chemical
