ENTRY LEVEL POSITION - PRODUCTION WORKER

PSI Urethanes, an established urethane manufacturing company in North Austin, is seeking to fill some entry level positions in our production department. These are fulltime positions with on-the-job training provided.

Hours: Monday-Friday from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm (with a 1 hour lunch break and minimal overtime).

We are looking for General Shop Help to fulfill many varied duties throughout the manufacturing area.

Individuals will be performing various duties throughout the production area. Including, but not limited to prep work, packing products for shipment, stocking items, cutting/trimming, clean up, machining products, producing urethane products according to the customer’s specifications and tolerances from beginning to end. Producing includes setting up molds, measuring and mixing raw materials, pouring into molds and breaking-out completed products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma / GED
Basic measuring & math skills. Must know how to use a tape measure utilizing inches and fractions of inches.
Regular lifting of 35-50 pounds
Dependability /Excellent attendance a must
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail very necessary
English language skills required
A minimum one-year general shop experience is helpful.

PERSONNEL POLICIES OVERVIEW

Pay

Payday is every Friday for hourly-paid employees. The pay week runs from Sunday through Saturday. Hours worked during the pay week ending Saturday are paid the following Friday. Performance and salary reviews are held every six months for the first two years and then annually thereafter.

Vacation

Employees earn two weeks after one year of service and three weeks of paid vacation is earned after ten years of service. All vacation time must be approved in advance by the employees’ supervisor. Vacation time must be taken in a minimum of half-day increments.

Sick Leave

Employees receive credit for three (3) hours of sick leave per month, beginning with the completion of the first month of employment. However, employees will only be eligible to use the accrued sick leave after completion of one full year of employment. PSI Urethanes, Inc. reserves the right to require written verification of illness or injury prior to paying for sick leave.

Holidays

The Company recognizes and observes the following holidays:

New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving
Christmas (The number of days off for Christmas is dependent upon which day of the week Christmas is on)

Health Insurance

After thirty (30) days of employment, employees are eligible to participate in PSI Urethanes’ group health insurance plan. Employees are provided appropriate documentation when eligible.
